Date: 28 June, 2023

The Blackdown Community Choir invite you to a concert at St John’s Church, Wellington at 7.30pm on Thursday 6th of July. Admission is free with any donations going to support Ukrainian charities.

It is an evening of Ukrainian music and song organised by the Blackdown Choir. They have recently funded two Ukrainian refugees to come and sing in the choir, as they understand how important singing is to restore the mind and to finding some peace in an often troubled world.

Choir leader Claire Stronach recently teamed up with Anna Pyshniuk, the leader of a small Ukrainian choir based in Bristol, and has invited them to share an evening of song and music in Wellington. Anna’s young daughter Kateryna is an accomplished pianist and has recently been awarded a place at the Royal Academy of Music. Kateryna will be performing some pieces at the concert.
