An opportunity to sing with other community choirs from Dorset and neighbouring counties!
Members of our choir are invited to join colleagues from Harmony 303 to spend a weekend in Prague between 4 October- 7 October and sing with a Czech choir. More details on the members pages!
The choir is managed by a small committee of elected members. The last meeting was on 24th September 2013 and the next meeting will be on Tues 21st January. Members can request copies of the minutes through Deborah, the secretary and also offer agenda items nearer the time.
Our Autumn term began on Thursday 19 September 2013 at 7.30pm at Wellington Baptish Church with a taster session to those who thought about joining the choir. If you missed that taster, then come along on the 26th September. Please be aware that if you leave it any later, we may be at full capacity. Our own musical leader, Caroline, will be with us to help us enjoy samples of the World Songs we sing. No auditions. The music is taught by ear so you don’t even have to read music, although it helps. The taster session will be £5 to be deducted from the normal price of £55/45 if you decide to stay. The autumn term ends on Thursday 12th December , with no meeting on 31st Oct.
Sing for Water West 2013 is on Saturday 6 July at the Harbourside in Bristol. Those who went last time felt it was an unforgettable experience to join with over 1000 other singers to sing together unaccompanied in harmony.
Choir members are encouraged to raise sponsorship to learn the seven songs by heart. This year there are three pop songs and two foreign songs, including ‘Deep River’, the traditional African-American spiritual, ‘Shout’, the popular pop anthem and ‘Let the River Run’ made popular by Carly Simon. The money will go towards the charity Wateraid. Existing members should look at the Members Pages for more details.

The choir will be singing at Wellington Street Fair on Sunday 2 June. We are honoured to be asked. This year the Street Fair will be bigger and better with South Street and the High Street being used for stalls and performances. Our performance will be at 10.30 after the Wellington Majorettes, with a rehearsal beforehand. More details of this exciting opportunity for singers in the Members Area.
