A wonderful opportunity for family members to hear and see the choir in action on the Thursday evening of 15 December 2016.
Entrance is by ticket only but the tickets are free (there is a fixed limit on numbers). Ask any Choir member for the tickets you need. There will be a retiring collection in support of the British Heart Foundation.
Choir members will meet at 18:15, the doors open for the public at 19:30 and the concert begins at 20:00.
Catch us singing seasonal melodies in Dunster on two occasions. We will be performing songs from around the world to honour the season and add to the wonderful atmosphere. We will sing in the Yarn Market at 4.30pm and then again in the Visitor’s Centre at 6.30pm. Please invite friends and family and make it an occasion to remember. All the shops and the streets are lit only by candlelight and the cobbled streets and the street food are wonderful! A candlelit procession also takes place about 7pm.
The choir are honoured to be invited to once again lead the singing around the bonfire on a night before Christmas. On 2 December, weather permitting, we invite anyone FREE to join us with the ANOB and Blackdown Hills Association on a candlelit path to the roaring bonfire high on the Blackdown Hills. Uffculme WI usually provide hot drinks and refreshments and everyone can join in to view the night-time sky and look out for that celebrity four- legged Rudoph amongst the stars! Details to come.
This is the next best occasion where it would be good to come along if you are interested in joining a community choir, our first of the Autumn term. Come along at 7.15pm so that we can meet you properly. You do not need to bring anything apart from £5, the taster fee. If you decide to join, then this will be put towards the term’s whole fee. Most of the members of the choir are now busily learning 7 new songs to sing as part of the SouthWest Sing for Water event in Bath on 10 July. We are asking for sponsorship individually and as a choir, to sing with a thousand others in front of the beautiful Crescent buildings in Bath. Please help if and when you are approached by a member to help those who who do not have access to clean water to drink or wash.
The choir will be joining many other community choirs from the south west to create a fantastic ‘big sing’ of songs which all the members have practised with their leaders. The members will be sponsored to learn all the songs by heart. Proceeds will go towards a Charity ‘Water Aid’ and all are welcome to come along and support the singing. It should be a fantastic vision with choirs stood in front of the Royal Crescent and an even better auditory experience with over a thousand voices raised in communal singing.
An opportunity to hear the choir and peruse environmentally green ideas! Lots to see and do! The choir will be practising from 10.15am and singing at 11.00am. You can hear our range of worldwide songs and buy or discuss your eco-friendly bread and cakes, home ware and garden materials.
The choir will be joining up with Alive and Kickin’, a community choir based in Brecon, S Wales for two days of joint singing and fun. The members may choose to join in with singing, walking, busking etc and there are joint activities planned in the programme. Fun will be had and new friends will be made. Nearly 50% of the members will be going along.

The best time to join the choir is at the first session of every term when our Musical Director starts new songs and warm- ups. You can ‘taste’ the choir next, and see if it is what you want, on 7 January 2016. Come along at 7.15pm for a 7.30 start. Cost £5 which will be deducted from your term fee if you decide to stay. The first session of 2016 was held on Thursday 7 January. If you have not yet come along to a taster session and are interested in singing with a community choir, then come along and try us out, but do let us know first. The term dates are 7 January – 24 March with a break on 18 February. Come along for 7.15 for a 7.30pm start. We are a friendly choir and will be pleased to see you. (See the Join page). It is obviously better to be in at the beginning of a term when we start learning new songs.
